Years back we used - and were pleased with - the place in Lombard on the N side of St. Charles, just E of the fire station.

The other day I noticed it was still there. The longevity kinda surprised - and pleased - me.

Chase's in Wheaton out Butterfield Rd. Recommended by Toms Price and Ethan Allen sales people. Good, quick and reasonable.

I have used both Chase and the one on St. Charles Rd in Lombard. Both are good. I find the turn-around time from the Lombard one is quite fast.

I've used Chase's before and they are good, turn-around time can be a bit on the slow side.

I just had custom slip-covers made for two wing chairs in our living room by Slipcovers Plus in Oak Park. They were VERY good, very fast and very reasonable. Family run business.

They do slipcovers and also re-upholstering. My sister has used them for re-upholstering and says they are just as good in this area. They also have a 'shop at home' service where they bring in the samples to match in your house, and they pick up your furniture and deliver it when it is complete (or measure for slipcovers, make them and then bring them and fit them on your furniture).

GER-
Thank you for that suggestion. Slipcovers may be a good option for our situation.

Thanks to all for your help! I will report back, but this is at the bottom of a list of 1,000 other things to spend money on, too.
