Change the type of furnace filters you use and change quite often. 3M makes one that is great. I have had duct cleaning, but felt the new furnace filters were the best route. But if you live in an area that has high traffic volume, dusting often is the only way to go. Try dusting with a damp cloth and it really keeps dust at a minimum. You might also look into an electronic filter that attaches to the furnace.
