The people that have been cleaning my house have retired from the business. I'm looking for someone new. Does anyone have any recommendations? Preferably English speaking. I got a couple of flyers recently but have misplaced them. Help!!

Welcome back Mrs. Arten! I don't have any suggestions on cleaning people, but wanted to provide a warm greeting.

I used to use McMaid at630 682 1661...they were very dependable and did a great job. I think they are Polish, but there is always one in the crew that speaks English.

Alas...I just terminated mine. Did it via the old answering machine.

Is that inappropriate?

I ended up going with Molly Maids out of Lisle. They did an excellent job, spoke English and a supervisor came out and inspected the job they did before they left.

Using the answering machine is pushing "no fault" divorce a bit far, IMO.

Are you still happy with Molly Maids? Or have you dropped them since your last post. Mrs. IMJ and I are looking for someone to help us out once in a while...

I'd be interested in someone coming once in a while too...My number one daughter is holding her nose while she wipes down the dining room chairs- You'd think I asked her to clean the toilet.

I'm still happy with Molly Maids. I know they will do once a month cleaning and even one time cleaning. I'm always at home when they come as I have a problem with letting someone in my house when I'm not home.

We are the same way. The only problem with us is we would need them to do it on a Saturday as we both work crazy hours. Thanks, this will make my search easy..

All people who clean, other than yourselves, will be varying degrees of sucky.

Point well taken. Still want someone else to clean our house. I am still trying to paint the darn place we bought because the lady that had it before us, used the same color paint throughout the whole house. I know, you think I am lying, but I am not.....I have pictures to prove it. I knew she was crazy when she took our first low ball offer, but then as I started painting, I think I was the crazy one for buying the joint.

Fan, care to comment on an insurance guy making a low ball offer?

What part of "no" don't you understand?

Imagine my surprise whent he 80 year old took it!!!!! GE Fan knows, the term, "I will take it", usually doesn't come back after the low ball offer. I wanted to close that day for fear that she would wake up and know she could have gotten at least 50k more....I did feel bad for a while, if that makes you feel better.....

Unfortunatly, this is a topic that we will never see eye to eye on, except for your pie in the sky demands, therefore, I say we call it a conversation over a Jack and Coke at Firkin......And you are right, I did not feel bad for her....I just wanted to show my holiday spirit.....
