A Yahoo! yellow pages search showed the nearest fencing contractor 9 miles away. That can't be right. Anyway, does anyone have a good fencing contractor that can offer some perhaps more unique cedar fencing. I.E. something other than what Menards/HomeDepot have?

How much do you want to spend? High end or middle of the road?

My neighbor just had a fence built...on the East Coast and shipped here. That's one nice fence.

Oh, good God, no, Clam. I forgot that this BBS reaches the likes of you Lake Ellyn crowd. I was looking for something more suitable to the YMCA district (read: low end). It's just that I didn't want to get the same thing I could go do myself at Mendards, etc.

And a contractor to do it, of course. The wife isn't allowing this one to be placed at the bottom of the ample honey-do list.

Hey! I live in YMCA district! I had a couple quotes on fences a couple years ago and crapped my pants when I saw the estimate due to the fact they were going to charge an extra $25 for each post hole they had to dig by hand due to being near a power/cable/phone line. So, I did it myself...took almost a year from first hole dug to last gate installed...cost about a third of the lowest estimate and looks a hell of a lot better...bought nearly everything at Menards or HD.

I did look at Peerless Fence in West Chicago and Deck Yard in St. Charles...
