Does anyone have a good recommendation for moving one of those monsterous cedar playsets from Hinsdale to GE? The company that it was bought and assembled from is no longer in business and the best quote from another supplier is $650.00. Lastly, to complicate further, our moving company does not take those playsets.

Any suggestions or recommendations would be helpful. (Yes, I have thought of a huge bonfire Wink)

Will it be assembled or not?

When we moved, our playset was bolted together and came apart into 3 or four main pieces. The slide part, the crossbar, the monkey bars, and some kinda net thing. Our movers (Mayflower) would move anything we wanted moved. Heck, we had those poor guys hauling rock, and a monster of a picnic table. Each of those pieces would have been too big for a minivan, tho I believe they might possibly have made it in a pickup truck.

A few years back we did a similar move in-town with a pick-up. But that was kinda scary just moving a mile or 2 on side streets.

Rob,

Let me know if you want to sell it. I'd be glad to take it off your hands

Know anyone in auto repair? One of those flatbed tow trucks could work.

It is assembled in Hinsdale right now. I would need to disassemble, move to GE and reassemble in the new yard.

My sister in law is giving this to us as long as we get it out of her yard expeditiously. It is not mine to sell. Our movers would charge an arm and leg to go to Hinsdale to pick up, even if I could get it disassembled in time.

Rob,

Swingsets are pretty easy to take apart with a socket wrench but the older it is the harder it may be to take apart. Putting it back together is not rocket science either. You might be able to rent a pick-up from Home Depot, Menards or even U-Haul

I will call him today. Thanks for the help - oh yeah, the wife dropped the check in the mail on Saturday. Hope you will still have enough food for us. Wink

Thanks again candidate and to all with suggestions.
