About 20 minutes ago I slammed my wife's new car (1,200 miles) into my car while entering the garage. Both cars have paint scratches on their bumper. There are no dents or cracks on any of the body parts. Any suggestions on where to get these touched up? Any idea about how much I just lost on this driving error?

Thanks...now back to pouting.
You've lost nothing. Don't fix them until someone hits you and then make their insurance pay for it. Think about it. You live on Western....someone WILL hit you.
BTW...are you sure you didn't have this little accident early Sunday morning?
I am a dyslexic agnostic insomniac. I lay awake at night wondering if there is a dog.
Yes, I'm sure. So I'm pulling into the garage and all of a sudden I see my car bounce up and down due to the contact. I immediately exclaim, "oh sh!t!" My three and a half year old in the back seat yells, "sh!t." I turn around and yell at her for using the word - she says right back to me, "but daddy, you just slammed mommy's car into yours." I say, "okay, you're right, but were not going to say it again." She hasn't yet....I have.
Reminds me of when I was driving around with my young son. I was doing the normal idiot parent thing, pointing out everything and naming and describing it. "See the big truck? Look at the red car!" While he sat silent.
Then, pulling out of a parking lot someone cut in front of me causing me to hit the brakes sharply, and I blurted out "F*ck!" From the back seat he started gleefully babbling "F*ckf*ckf*ckf*ck..."
Yet another date certain on which the expectations got lowered!
(But I was never stupid enough to hit a car that was parked in my garage. Got nothing for you on that!)
Back in the day, before I wised up and got out of handling auto claims, we would make fun of guys like you that can't get in and out of their garages. We would read the facts of the loss and say, I guess we really do insure stupidity......Welcome to the club Fan, nice to have you......
You would be smart to not report that loss for fear of hearing laughter on the other end.....Go out of pocket, it will be cheaper in the long run....

Ditto. Does very good work, Potts. Reasonably priced, also. An odd combo.
Another big thumbs up for Jim at ABV. He'll even tell you if you should NOT have the work done...another rare quality. Sorry about the owie, but it did make for some funny reading...
My insurance agent strongly suggested that I use Haggerty when I buried my man wagon into the back of a Durango. Strongly suggested because it was a preferred shop. To their defense, they did take my suggestion (insistence) that they not use used or aftermarket parts...just new BMW parts. I'd give the job a 7 out of 10. Not bad, not outstanding. Paint work was good. Fit and finish was so-so.
