Does anyone have any recommendations for someone to work on my fireplace? Some bricks are crumbling, some cracks in the mortar- just had the chimney cleaned by All Season Chimney Sweeps out of Schaumburg- He wanted to put in a top damper for 500, silicon outside brick for 80 so pieces of brick would not fall until we could tuck point the whole thing, inside the fireplace use some caulk like fireplace mortar until we could tuck point the whole thing for 60 and his estimate for tuckpointing was 2000.
So I am basically looking at more than 2500 does this seem right?

We have been very happy with Early Times Chimmney Sweepers-they do our regular chimmney sweeping in addition to some repairs that had to be done after we moved into our house.
