Does anyone know of a good plumber in the area that is not too expensive? Everytime I use my washing machine, water and a bunch of other stuff comes up from the drain. And yes, it smells pretty bad too.

Thanks, Joe

Which drain, your sink or your floor drains? If its floor, you need roto-rooter or someone like that. If it's your sink, have you tried some of the Drano-like products?

And if you don't have a lint trap on your washing machine outlet, you should.

Actually, it is the floor drain, but I know it is coming from the sink drain too. When the washer drains, it fills the sink, but when it goes down, that is when the floor drain over flows.

I have tried drano, but no luck. Will Jim Dhamer do roto-rooter too?

Thanks for everyone's replies.

Update:
I used Dhamer and they did a great job. A little more expensive than I thought, but it was worth it. I have a root problem just like I am sure the rest of Glen Ellyn residents do.

In my many years of working for water and sewer utilities, Jim Dhamer was always considered one of the best. I also know that you can purchase a root destroyer to maintain your service from the house to the main. I personally have never had the problem, but I know Ace or Soukup's carried the root destroyer. You only use it once or twice a year to keep the line root free.
