Hi all,
I hate to be repeating a topic that was already brought up here once before, but I'm not sure any suggestions were really thrown out there. At any rate, does anyone know of any good, reliable contractors who could finish an unfinished basement. Nothing fancy, just framing, drywall, trim, plumbing (for a bathroom that's already roughed in) and some electrical.

I feel like some of the well-known builders around town probably wouldn't have much interest in wasting time on something as small as this.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. I know, I know ... I'm sure C. George could use some work ...

We are having our 1/2 bath re-done by a great guy that is local and has lived in GE for most,if not all his life (GBW Alum).

His information is:

Jim Marsh
630-664-2776 (cell)

Jim was heavily involved in Glen Ellyn Girls Softball when his daughters were involved in the program. He is very honest and straight forward. If he doesn't do this type of work, he may at least be able to point you to someone reputable that does.

Her suggestion - 'You could move.'”

Bryan Sebring of Sebring Services. He is from town and is the basement king.
He advertises in the Glancer and I think his website is listed on his ad but his phone # is 639-918-8010.

Coincidentally, the Glancer was in the mailbox and I just saw the ad. The phone number on the ad is 630-369-6829 and the web address is www.sebringservices.com. Looks like some very nice work - and now I know where I can get a master bathroom remodel estimate without bothering Candidate! I love a free in-home consultation.

I just hope Citygirl didn't put together this ad, if you know what I mean! Wink

GEM2, in case you want to get more than one bid, the guy I listed also does free estimates and has a really great portfolio.

Thanks - I almost edited my post to reflect that I had two contractors to look at thanks to this thread. Smile

Don't waste your time with a permit. It is better to say I'm sorry than to ask permission! Wink

Just make sure everything is done to code! Eek

Throw the debris in someone else's dumpster. Smile

The only true reason for a permit is to allow the tax assessor to re-value your home and raise your taxes. Frown

Oh yeah. . . ask the contractor if he will give you a cash discount, but don't pay them until the job is complete! Wink
