A tradesperson or two has recommended that we have our air ducts cleaned. Is this service is a rip-off? If not, does anyone have any recommendations for a reliable provider?

Thank you!

I would recommend that you have your ducts cleaned at least once if not periodically. When we did more remodels we used to do it afterwards and the air duct cleaning companies found things, including dead animals, that you wouldn't believe. Things that were there long before we started.
It is probably not a bad practice to periodically have them cleaned but again I would at least have it done once.
I have used Quality Air Inc. at 1-800-583-8994.
They usually have a special for under $150.00 for an unlimited number of ducks
er, ducts.
If you find a local company that does it and is reasonable please forward their info so that we have it for the future.
Happy Trails

Use Dunne Cleaing. I am very good friends with the Dunne's and have been for over 25 years. They are honest and will do a great job.

Glad it worked out for you 4MP. They do charge slighty more than most, but their quality is far more superior than any other. I have known Tom since the 6th grade, worked cleaning carpets with the Dunne's through part of college and I can tell you they really do care about making the customer happy. I would also highly recommend them for carpet cleaning and wall washing.
