Ahh, there's your mistake. For we are talking about a man who is truly without shame.

you hit the nail on the head. to try to start another overpriced development (900K next to the tracks..please!) with the nasty swath he cut through this town IS shameless.

Makes their catch-phrase "Building Tomorrow's Landmarks Today" pretty hilarious.

I'll tell you one reason for sure why all C George jobs take so long is that it seems they don't pay their subs. They hire them, pay them decently for a while then string them along with "we'll get it to you, just help me out and do this for me first." Then they never pay. Obviously, the subs walk-off eventually leaving much unfinished work but in the meantime the builder gets a lot of free work. Liens are an option for the subs, but they are cumbersome and expensive. Unless you are talking a lot of money, sometimes it's easier to just cut your losses and walk away.

speaking of builders, what is the deal with the Mews? Did Vivoda's shell corp finally pay the sub contractors to finish the gig?

I thought the Mews were a great idea and I think they are attractive. Bad timing with the economy I guess.

Who would have guessed that there would be a limited market for $800,000+ condos overlooking a pizza parlor?

The Mews were foreclosed on. Vivoda no longer has anything to do with that project.

The Chamber of Commerce could use some new blood...which they are getting...and they are sorely in need of a new website. It looks like their's was done just after Al Gore invented the WWW.

Rule#1 when building a house aanniiuu: pay the subs directly. Don't do it any other way or get yourself a new GC.

True, American Chartered Bank has the project. Please contact me if you want to purchase a unit...I know the guy.

Remember Potsy, you can't be the broker and the lawyer on the same deal. BTW, where is your license?

You have my license...that's been a lose-lose.

I don't have anything to do with lawyering that deal...I wish I did as it would have been a HUGE fee.

There's actually activity going on at his project on Turner W of Park.
Any guesses as to how far that one progresses before it comes to a standstill?

Clam, we need your expert aesthetic judgment on the roofline of the addition on this house on Turner, just W of Park.
I lack your inestimable good taste, but I can't imagine anyway that's gonna end up looking like anything other than a huge honking shed jammed next to a nice looking house.
