I'll tell you one reason for sure why all C George jobs take so long is that it seems they don't pay their subs. They hire them, pay them decently for a while then string them along with "we'll get it to you, just help me out and do this for me first." Then they never pay. Obviously, the subs walk-off eventually leaving much unfinished work but in the meantime the builder gets a lot of free work. Liens are an option for the subs, but they are cumbersome and expensive. Unless you are talking a lot of money, sometimes it's easier to just cut your losses and walk away.

speaking of builders, what is the deal with the Mews? Did Vivoda's shell corp finally pay the sub contractors to finish the gig?

I thought the Mews were a great idea and I think they are attractive. Bad timing with the economy I guess.
