Our plan covers the following dudes/chicks. Any have any experience with them? I will also welcome your gushing reviews regarding those that are not listed below:

Glen Ellyn Orthodontics Assoc.
507 Duane

Ronald J. Waryjas
45 S. Park

William Dolgi
1911 E. Roosevelt Rd.
Wheaton

Bruce Wisner
300 S. West
Wheaton

Laurence Golden
300 S. West
Wheaton

That's the best I can do with the benefits package that we have. Anybody know anything about either of these dudes?

My suggestion is to chose one that the kid can walk to from your house and Hadley. It will make life much easier for you!!!!

Good point. Now that I think about it, my orthodontist was right next to my High School...walk over during study hall...

Clam, we use Dr. Head on Pennsylvania, 858-2060.
He and his staff are very good.
We had an appointment with the Dr. on Duane and my husband left before the appointment, he was not impressed enough to stay.

An open apology to the administrator:

For about 10 minutes a post appeared in this very space accusing you of deleting a post that I needed to read. Seems I was having a Sybil moment and did not recall that I had posted the same question on the new, harder-to-navigate nnburbs.com site. Please accept my apologies for the truly awful things that I wrote.

Whoa...that must have been hard to write. The apology that is, not your mindless attack on the innocent administrator, I know that comes naturally.

BTW its nwburbs.net....idiot. Big Grin

Clamato - since we already have the same pediatrician, I'm recommending our orthodontist Dr. Head. They are always on time - seriously. Nice staff, terrific doctor. Your kid might be able to get there from Hadley on his own, but we often had early appointments and got everyone to school on time. Easy walk from West, but let's hope your treatment plan isn't that long!

Isn't Dr. Dolgi on Roosevelt???? Way too far if the kid needs to get there on his own. Bite the bullet rich guy and go with Dr. Murphy on Park...you won't be sorry.

Leave me alone. I'm depressed and can't afford my medication.

Seconding Dr. Head - we had a great experience with him and his staff. (Younger son recently had his very last visit. Ever.) And I felt he was very reasonable and not given to overcharging or overfixing, as I have found other orthodontist/dentists in the area to be. (I often feel some of these practitioners assume that just because you live in GE, money's no object, which can be the only explanation possible for seeing braces on five year olds with baby teeth. I never felt that way with Dr. Head.)

we just started using dr. head, and i second the rec! very nice, resonable payment plan, treatment plan, and VERY on time. the place on duane is not good...i would seriously consider doing a flexpay account and setting aside $ next year on your own before i'd go with your plan and use that guy on duane if you can. i just wouldnt set foot in that place again.

I have to call around. I find it hard to believe that the above list are the only choices offered by a Fortune 100 corporation and BCBS PPO. One would hope the list is out of date.

Clam,

You may want to review your plan as we have BCBS PPO with separate dental that provides the same benefits for in or out-of-network providers - there is a small deductible for out of network. Also, as scribbler commented, be sure to save enough in flexible savings account to submit the balance not paid by insurance for reimbursement. It really helps soften the blow of the bill(s) Big Grin . (That is you child's smile after seeing Dr. Head)

Dr. Head gets our vote, too. 2 of my kids owe their lovely smiles to him (the 3rd was pronounced to have "perfect teeth" by Dr. Lambert- I almost kissed him as I thought about the $ I would not now have to spend!) His pricing is very reasonable, treatment plans are relatively simple (compared to another doc in town who we dumped in midstream when it was clear that we'd be seeing him for most of my daughter's adolescent life), appointments are easy to get and several times my kids were able to walk over themselves from West during their study halls.
