Anyone have any experience with this group? We had Premium and ADP or ADB? come out and give us quotes. ADB wanted to do indoor drain tile and Premium wanted to treat it from the outside with digging, and painting on the outside. Premium is a family owned business and really seemed to know what he was talking about.
I have no experience with either. However, I am curious - - is your foundation cast concrete or block/masonry? Also, what was this magical paint suggested by Premium? You may want to ask if bentonite panels would be more effective and what the price difference would be over paint.

It wasn't paint...I mispoke, it's that black tar stuff, and then they put that board over it--the panels you spoke of. They use both.
it's concrete blocks. Old house.
And yes, I agree, I don't trust them. I hear that most water problems can be solved through landscaping and gutters. That's why I'm so interested in what Feller proposed doing--swales, french drains, etc....
For what it's worth, there is a school of thought that suggests that no amount of exterior work will ever be 100% useful for a concrete block type foundation due to the blocks' porosity. Anyway, these folks conclude that you should thus put an interior drain that can collect seepage through the wall and pump it out. Then of course you need to think about how (if at all) you're going to finish the interior of the basement with that drainage system in place.
That longwinded story is why I was a little alarmed that simple paint would be a key component of the exterior waterproofing.
And then of course for my bottom line, if your gut's telling you to use the exterior guy, and it sounds like he's got a decent proposal/method, he's probably the right way to go.
