My wife and I will be bidding out a renovation/addition on our house and we were wondering if anyone had any thoughts on, or experience with C&C Shenuk Construction. They've done a lot of large projects around town and they've all turned out looking really good. Anyway, just wondering whether anyone knew of anything they wouldn't mind sharing. Thanks.
Chris Shenuk is currently working on our project and its going great. He was originally referred to us by our architect (who has worked with him in the past). Our project is going great and working with Chris is a real pleasure. Unlike most contractors who sub out all the work, Chris actually does most of the work himself; he's down in the trenches getting muddy pouring concrete and framing, etc. You can't go wrong. We recommend him highly.
Chris did our garage addition. No complaints. A friend wanted ti use someone else on concrete part and is still trying to get their guy to fix the lawn and other damage. I would recommend Chris.
I see the recommendations above for Chris Shenuk and Greg Sather, but wanted to restart this thread with a request for other recommendations for general contractors (not that we have called either of the above yet; we haven't - just gettting started with this project).
We are embarking upon a kitchen remodel with structural changes, but working within the current footprint of the house, so it's not a huge budget or addition situation. Can anyone recommend other GCs for this kind of job? Thanks for any help!
FYI, We found a terrific GC who is currently doing our kitchen. He has been in business 27 years and his team of guys have worked with him 7-15 years. Meticulous work, and very articulate about our requirements, and his progress. He also provided very useful layout and design advice. Oh boy. Had aa aquantance who did a good job on my deck but never got around to finish my windows 3-5 years ago. We started talking about a home addition 3-4 years ago, then we went through a time without employment. In December, again we started talked about the addition. I finally get plans last Wednesday and was disappointed. I told him so and now he has not returned any phone calls. I need a good gc that can take this project and get moving. Looking for suggestions. My wife has names like: walker Construction, Waterman and Baumson. Any help would be appreciated.
Baumson did a great job finishing my basement a few years ago. Drywall, drop ceiling, added a bathroom and two large closets, all at the price and time that they quoted. We were also very pleased with how they cleaned up every night.
You may want to give Glenn Hookham, Hookham Construction a call. He is a GE resident who takes great pride in his work and will supply numerous local references. 469-7966.
