Happened to stroll down Turner the other day, between Park and Forest. Wasn't surprised to see an overflowing dumpster out front, uncovered Tyvek on the house and garage, piles of pallets, no attempt at landscaping ...

Just what the heck kind of building permit lasts this long?

Reminded me that we had discussed this project earlier in a thread which has been closed. A couple of gems from that thread with comments:

There's actually activity going on at his project on Turner W of Park. Any guesses as to how far that one progresses before it comes to a standstill?

I readily admit it has not come to a standstill. I'm sure they will cover up the Tyvek one of these years. . .

As far as the Duane Street Project goes, it won't have these issues. It is not his project only and has a majority partner that controls the finances and there are no issues with funding or anything that would impede the building process. If you have been to any of the meetings on this, there are probably going to be milestones for completion imposed by the city that would have to be met. From the drawings that have been shown, these have a very classic look to them and would be a a lot better than what is sitting there now.

Yeah, I guess bare dirt is a pretty classic look!

Minor example, the project on Turner W of Park had a large dumpster overflowing with trash on X-mas morn. Merry X-mas, everybody!

I'm PRETTY sure the overflowing dumpster presently on the site is not the same one from a year and a half ago!

To my knowledge, none of his projects are in bankruptcy, and he has taken on partners in some cases in order to complete his projects.

I believe a bank is the proud owner of the property on Turner W of Montclaire.

As evidenced by the recent activity on C. George's projects, his financial situation is much improved and progress is being made on his homes.

Different post, same date

You know, by reading these pages, you'd think that George has 20 projects going on (he has only 4 I believe, which all should be completed by the fall),. . .

Tick - tick - tick . . .

I believe that once beautiful house on Turner west of Park is in foreclosure. That would explain reports of appliances, counter tops and....the front door....being removed a couple of months back.

No. I am talking about the "rehab" that was being done west of Park. Nothing been going on there lately from what I can tell.

I was told....and perhaps it is not true...that the all of the goodies inside the house were brought out one day.

The project on Park north of Hawthorne has been sloooow....but I think it is still going on.

Hmm. There was actually some work activity there the other day. They were applying some dark wod cladding to the garage doors. And I think the house still had a front door . . .
