Interesting story....and an interesting study. I can't wait to hear what the results of the study are.

Should I give up, or should I just keep chasing pavements....even if it leads nowhere - Adele

Doesn't sound like the trapper is in trouble...sounds like some people crossed the line in threatening him for doing the job he was hired to do.

Our area's coyotes are slacking - or maybe dead? The rabbit population has soared in the past few months. We even have one rabbit regularly in the yard whose leg was broken - or maybe it's a deformity. - It is able to run pretty well, but not in a straight line, as its left rear leg kind of flops around. We call it Lambchop. Smile

Yeah saw a young rabbit just sitting in the street on Hillside this am.

We also had baby possums running around our yard. Cant figure out where the possums are living.

I dunno - I saw a coyote loping along Glen Oak Ave. the other evening; it wasn't even dusk yet. He seemed very bold & unconcerned.

But I do agree the rabbit population is exploding, but I'm not complaining. We have an adorable young rabbit living beneath the hostas in our front yard. He's adorable because so far, he hasn't eaten any of my flowers.

I've also noticed the abundance of rabbits - particularly at dusk - they are everywhere. I've always loved watching them hippity hop around.

Lots more chipmunks (ground squirrels?) too. My dogs are going crazy trying to catch them.

Our originally outdoor, but now primarily indoor cat has been begging all morning to get out and "play with" a chipmunk she has been watching zip across the patio. We though she had them all, but some others must have seen the unoccupied tunnels and thought the place looked like a great place to move in.

They are very cute little critters, but not too bright.

The cat or the chipmunk?? My cat is taunted by chipmunks daily. We are not sure what would happen if we let the cat out. He's not the sharpest tack in the box.

Last 7 replies seem to concur that we need more coyotes?

4:54 PM - just saw a coyote running across Spring Avenue, bold & brazen as can be. Worried for all those bunnies!

Having one coyote would be good. A rabbit just had a buffet on the petunias in our garden. Wouldn't mind seeing him go to bunny heaven.
