Anyone tried them for their dog? Do they work? Our one dog gets very agitated during thunderstorms, and worse yet, on the 4th of July. Not sure if it's a gimmick or not.

Just got one for our younger dog last week, so we are still getting he usewd to wearing it. She has a mild seperation anxiety disorder and were hoping this helps. I'll let you know in a week or so if it seems to help.

Things to do today:

1. Watch GE Fan carry the least masculine legal document transporting case ever;

2. Clean off desk as it is becoming creepy dirty;

3. Do a Google search on "thunder shirt."

We use a thunder shirt for my oldest dog as her fear of storms, even if they are a hundred miles away, has really gotten bad. I think it settlers her a little but I also think it makes her hot, so I don't always use it. I am glad I have one though.

Thanks, Yoss. I was about to Google that one, too.

It's an interesting concept, I wonder if the idea was provoked by the "hug machine" concept for autistic people. Seems like a similar concept, comfort by squeeze.

My vet recently said that some researchers think that the dogs feel the electricity in the air and gives them an uncomfortable tingling feeling. It was suggested that you rub a dryer sheet over the dogs fur to reduce the static electricity. I haven't tried that yet. A cheaper fix if it works.

My girlfriend uses a thunder shirt for her dog. He goes crazy sometimes gets ill, chews up stuff, etc. He was wearing one yesterday but she still gave him some doggy downers.

Sometimes I refer to Mr. Klok as "Thunderpants."

Some friends have one and said it worked like a charm on their dog. Our dog is a HUGE scaredy cat so we tried theirs on our dog for size. It just hugs them so we figured a t-shirt could do the same. The last couple of storms we decided just to put a snug t-shirt on him and it really helps. Usually he paces and pants during a storm but tonight he was really calm and just hid in a corner. I say save the 40 bucks and try the tight t-shirt!
