Help...I need to find either a kennel or a dog day care to keep my dog for a long day. We have never boarded him before because he is small and travels easily with us...but we are moving next week and the neighbor we thought would take care of him for the day will not be around and he has to have someplace to be during the day. We are closing on one house in the morning and the other in the afternoon...I am not sure what time we will be done...

The Glen Ellyn Animal Hospital will take your dog for the day.

I like that place in Lombard on St. Charles Rd before you hit Grace. I forget the name.

Or, I really like the thought of leaving the little kipper in my new, spacious garbage can. It would be inexpensive.

Clamato-
He'd probably like the garbage can- it would be a step up from his crate! but the kids like him too much to risk heat stroke...A few years back we kenneled our boarder collie, the kennel was not air conditioned and there was a horrible heat wave....My husband came home a few days before us and the dog wansn't acting right and by morning she died. This was very upsetting to the children and I don't want to deal with that again! So thanks for the offer but no thanks.

We have successfully used both Glen Ellyn Animal Hospital and Happy Paws on St. Charles. Both are very good. Happy Paws is closer to you, but GE Animal Hospital has longer hours.

We have been extremely happy with the Lombard Animal Hospital. Our dog has been boarded there, and does not mind going back there even for regular visits. They take great care of the animals.
