Hi, My husband, 7 month yr. old son, and I are moving to Glen Ellyn in Feb. from NC. We have three cats. I was wondering if anyone could suggest any good vets nearby?
Lombard Veterinary Hospital in Lombard on St. Charles Road. We really like their facility and Dr. Rosen is great with our old dog. We have been going there for 13 years now, and they have been great.
Make it easy on yourselves and just start taking my advice early in your GE tenure. People try to go around me...but end up realizing that I am correct about everything 98% of the time (one notable exception...my ringing endorsement of Vicky Hase 3.8 years ago...that was just an error in judgement on my part). It will just make your time here easier if you start now.

It is about a 10 minute drive from downtown GE.
I agree 1000 percent. I believe he is a cat person, because everytime I bring my 'getting older -skin and bones' cat in, he takes her and walks around the hospital with her, cradled in his arms. He's done this on several occations. They have several vets that are capable of doing just about ANYTHING and they are open on Sunday!
Addison Veterinary is great also! Smaller hospital but does a great job!

Wait....THREE cats? Not certain what the rule is in Du Page County, but I think you are either one over or one short of being a CCF (crazy cat family...and extended version of crazy cat lady).

Where I use to live - I don't know if it was county or village, but it was three animals max, no more than two of one species. I'll look up Glen Ellyn. Glen Ellyn may be similar.

Okay - I'm checking the codes out of curiosity sake, but this caught my eye in DuPage: 5-3 E. No person shall hold a greased pig contest.

Well....that does it. Anyone know a good realtor in Hinsdale?
I really doubt anyone would have the slightest bit of concern if someone owned 3 cats or 17 cats. Actually...more animals would be good for the local economy.

What about a greased pig exhibition? Not necessarily a competition...just an educational seminar?
Does it say anything about ferret shaving?

I've been going to Glen Ellyn Animal Hospital (on Park, just south of Roosevelt) for 2 1/2 years, and have liked the staff very much. They also have Sunday hours, which works well for me. I've also heard very good things about Lombard Animal Hospital. But, my girl hates car rides, and GEAH is only 5 minutes from home.

GEAH did the wrong surgery on my neighbors dog. So she had to recover from the surgery that she did not need, before they could do the surgery she was supposed to have. Horrible.
Didn't something happen (though through no fault of the hospital) when they were putting on an addition there years back. Something about a wall fell?

Whenever I am filling up at Shell...I hear them dogs barking and crying at GEAH...and I would never go there because of that. Well....that and the whole karma of it collapsing during the remodeling a few years back. Crushed a few animals, IIRC.

I knew something like that happened! Didn't a fireman take a dog or something?
