My daughter has 2 baby turtles....one appears to have an ear abscess...which apparently requires a vet visit...which she says she will pay for...any recommendations for a vet for a turtle and do you know how much it will likely cost for the visit?

Cost will be roughly 56 times the cost of the turtle. But I guess that isn't the point.

I believe that you are correct about Danada.

Try Glendale Hospital -Glendale Heights, IL

They use to do odd kinds of animals years back but a new vet took over. I'm unsure if they don't go outside of the cat/dog care...?

How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year,
Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.

Call the Willowbrook Wildlife Center. They may have someone on staff that could be helpful.

Does she want two more (healthy) little turtles? I can throw in a 55 inch Mitsubishi television, but that is my final offer!

What part of "no" don't you understand?

I'd call Ness - or even call one of the GE vets and ask for a referral. You and your daughter have good hearts. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

My son wanted a box turtle for xmas and I was fortunate to find a mated pair. We took them to the GE animal clinic and Dr. B there evaluated them and gave us a lot of turtle info. Don't remember if he even charged us as we had a cat and dog there. He definitely liked turtles though.

Turtles are amazing- when we had them we discovered they are very clever escape artists- they just move slow so you don't realize what they are up to- because the latch on our sliding screen door is broken- they could open the door on their own to walk out on the deck. But they live so long you will probably eventually give them away.

As a child I had many box turtles. I had Pete the longest. When winter was upon us I was advised to bury Pete below the frostline so he could hibernate. One of the hardest thing a 10 year old could do. Amazingly, spring came and good old Pete popped back up in his pen. It was a very emotional reunion. Turtles are cool. Big Grin
