The members of the Clam household are having a battle Royale with Cheese over the naming rights of the spanking new puppy that will arrive in the spring. As the number-one check writer and person who will inevitably live with this dog the longest (along with Parker), I feel as though I should have a heavy hand in naming rights. My boys want to name it something roughly akin to a 6 year-old naming the dog Red Ranger from the Power Rangers. In two years they will mortified at the name they have picked. Kids are notoriously bad namers. Therefore, here is my question. Keep in mind that I will follow your advice.

Question:
What should we name the dog:

Choices:
Orbit
Something way less cool than Orbit

If he likes to spin and revolve, maybe. "Here Orby come to Daddy." Maybe if he is not properly socialized you could make a slight modification to OrBite. Wink Didn't your last dog have a male name when she wasn't or vice versa?
Seriously, I'm happy for your family. Dogs are the best!!!! Smile

Go outside and call that name a few times - do you still think it's cool? Confused Think of the Orbit gum ads, as well, with that Nordic woman saying, "Fabulous!"

Final reason for no vote: Sounds like Norbit - that awful Eddie Murphy movie from last year.

This question is coming from the person who named a female dog Otto?

I would suggest waiting until you have the dog, then pick a name that reflects it's personality. Our youngest pooch is Boomer and with his bellowing bark it's befitting.

It's such a horrible name I can't get over it.

Apparently Clamato is God at everything except picking dog names.

Why do I feel like I'm encroaching upon a situation akin to when a buddy breaks up with a girlfriend, wife, or boyfriend that you never liked.....then you tell them how much you hated him/her....only to have them get back together?

Mrs. Yoss brought up a good point-What is the reward for a successful submission?

That beautiful puppy deserves a beautiful name.

Orbit doesn't do it justice.

I like the name Parker.

LOL!

Fanette suggest Emmitt. Since she cannot birth me a boy, she is directing our boy names to dogs across the Glen Ellyn area.

I am already being deluged with several stupid names. I don't need any others. No prize is involved.

My back up name is Otter.

I must say....I hate all of you. Not just GE Fan.

I believe I will go cry now.

You're back up name sucks too. It sucks big time.

Otters are named Otter. Why don't you just get an Otter and name it Dog.
