OK, a few things to clear up here:

Fan, your wife is not failing to birth you boys - it's YOUR fault. Poor thing. Second, one of the names you suggested is my son's name so I really don't want to hear someone calling, "Here boy" with my son's name attached. I like really good dog names.

I'm sorry Clam, I don't like Orbit either - makes me think of the gum ads with the girl who smiles and a big sparkle-star appears and disappears at the edge of her mouth. Really annoying.

I love the name Shadow for a dog...and with that beautiful color, that would be a nice match. What name did the kids come up with?

It's even okay for a cartoon.

How about "Go Away?" Then you could go outside and call: "come here, Go Away."

I always liked the name "Ranger". That was Radar O'Reilly's dog's name in Iowa.

Wrigley is nice, but I think it's getting overused.

First reasonable suggestion of the evening. I'll take that under advisement.

But I must admit, I am tiring of that moniker.

LOL!

Fanette suggest Emmitt. Since she cannot birth me a boy, she is directing our boy names to dogs across the Glen Ellyn area.

Dude, it is your fault that you cannot make a boy.....your boys are not good swimmers.....It is not Fanettes fault that you can't get one by the goalie...

It takes a special man to be blessed with a boy......Sorry Fan...

I have two. And 9 out of 10 people would say that I am a better person than GE Fan.

We have named several dogs. My favorite name was Critter, but it was constantly outvoted. I do have another idea. Look up things that are silver or gray. For example, the periodic table lists the element silver as Ag which is number 47. Aggie isn't a bad name for a silver dog.

I would just start out with what will undoubtedly be used when you call her in from the Freezing @ss cold. "damn it"
Come here damn it
Get in here damn it
You got the floor all muddy damn it
It would be somewhat universal as you yell outside. Except for the wife of course.

You could soften this a little and use "or else"
Come here or else
Get in here or else

If she ever gets hungry for a toy pomeranian let me know.

The kids have a nice tasty one and its even named coco. High in flavonols I am sure.

Final reason for no vote: Sounds like Norbit - that awful Eddie Murphy movie from last year.

Used to like you....

Thank you for your input.

Now I'm Blue! Frown

I just looked at the photo and he looks like a Buddy - but you have received some great suggestions - new poll, please! Give the masses a diversion on their snow day . . . . Smile

I thought about this earlier. We had a chocolate lab and nothing made me more disappointed in society than its inability to come up with good names. Every Choco in GE was named either Cocoa, Mocha, Hershey, or Brownie. Makes my stomach jump just thinking about it. I think Gus and I had the only two non-confectionery named chocolates in Illinois. My fear is, as the silvers become popular (if they ever do), there will be tons of Ags, Aggies, Smokes, and Shadows.

Would really like to name it Linda. Have always wanted to name a dog Linda. Seems like such an anonymous name. Unfortunately, Linda lives directly across the street. Just wouldn't work.

BTW, thank you to Gus for the contact info. Hitching my wagon to his canine star was pretty easy to do.

How about Luna?

I like Luna.

However, Luna = Moon...Moon = Silver. You're falling into the trap that you hate. And what's with the reoccurring space theme?

For clarification purposes, so as to not be perceived as a bigger idiot than already perceived, I was kidding about the wife/boy thing. She was sitting next to me as I typed it.

IMJ - I'm not making this clarification for your purposes....as you have a naked man as your avatar...I don't care for your approval or for your support. In fact, I've printed out several pictures of Luna and mailed them to you wife.
