I found an excellent emergency vet and I thought that I would pass the information along to all of you. I highly recommend....

We haven't been had a pet emergency in a number of years and today was the day. My kitten somehow hurt her paw and began bleeding profusely. My house turned into what looked like a murder scene in an instant. I walked in and said I had an actively bleeding kitten and they began working on her in about 2 minutes. They are very professional and compassionate.

Stay away from Emergency Veterinary Service located at 820 Ogden Ave in Lisle. We went there first and they didn't care that I had a heavily bleeding kitten and said it would probably be 45 minutes to see her. They wouldn't provide me a quiet place to hold her and put pressure on her paw while we waited. They thought that I should be able to do that in the small waiting room with several large dogs and noisy kids running around. They had examination rooms that weren't being used and would let me sit in there to wait. Very bad experience and staff that didn't have a problem with not treating heavy bleeding.

For what it's worth, I had basically the opposite experience with my cat last New Yer's Eve (around 2:00 am) with the Lisle emergency vet - I was able to call ahead, but the staff and vet were attentive, and the triage seemed good (my situation was, in all honesty, not the most serious case there that night). We were seen within 10 minutes, and they followed up with my regular vet the next business day. I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but I have heard good things about the Evet you used as well.
