I'd trade a bird for a skunk any day!
I am a dyslexic agnostic insomniac. I lay awake at night wondering if there is a dog.

Coyote spotted at the Walgreens @ Lambert and Roosevelt. I was sitting in my car like a sociopath listening to a book cd while waiting for my little one's antibiotic to be filled. I looked over and there was a coyote walking through the parking lot, then over to the section I was in. I just stared at it as it passed my car when all of a sudden a gang of 3 or 4 12? year old's rounded the corner off of Lambert whooping it up and chasing said coyote seriously going after it. They got as far as my car (the only car in the row along the backside) and I honked the horn and flipped them off (sorry about the flipping people...but at least I didn't spit on them ala Clam. ). Anyway, they peeled away and ran into Walgreens. The coyote made it across Roosevelt (barely) and I was left peeved. Note to parents...the coyote could have bit them if cornered or I could have been a real psycho waiting in the dark behind Walgreens for a kid to cook for dinner!

Did it go to Dan The Man's house and bite him? Because that would be cool.

Spacie,
My wife was at walgreens at the same time, because she said as she was heading in there, the coyote was standing in the middle of Lambert. She felt sorry for it because it looked pretty thin. She didn't mention any sociopath flipping off 12 year olds though.
Clam,
I appreciate your concern, but no, the coyote did not come by my house, let alone bite me. I did get stung by a bee at my house 2 weeks ago if that makes you feel any better.

I don't even recall writing that. I must have been drunk after being at Ruydah's Bar and Grill. Of course...I don't want you to be bitten by a coyote, DTM.

Visited in Warrenville over the weekend...all kinds of signs up for missing or lost cats around Fox Hollow off of 59. Either there are a ton of coyotes or some really sick people.

That's her car. If we are together, she is typically driving it. And she doesn't drink. I usually drive it when it's behind the man wagon. The man wagon is a better car to drive.

Not exactly an unexpected siting, but saw one around noon today on the 17th hole of the Links. As we came to the tee, it was across the lake from us. Completely undaunted, it trotted up the cart path towards us. When we had finished teeing off, it essentially stared us down, seemingly to see if we would get out of its way or vice versa. After a second or 2, it trotted over to the rough next to the 16th green, where it sat down and scratched itself.
Now THERE was a beast that was entirely unfazed by proximity to humans.
Oh - and my BIL and I who both own dogs estimated 35-40 pounds. My non-dog owner friend guessed 60. So I think I can imagine where those estimated of gigantic maneating were-coyotes come from...

Too late. I am going to smear myself with peanut butter and hang around the walgreen's parking lot until that famished coyote gnaws at me. With Fan as my lawyer, I will soon be the owner of a mini cooper.
