Saw 2 of them strolling down the 5th fairway on the 18 at the Links this a.m.
They jumped a bit as my drive came down maybe 20 yards to the right of them.
Curiously, two workers with the "goose dog" were just off to the right of the fairway - neither the dog nor the coyotes seemed to take any notice of each other.

Speaking of municipal workers not doing their job - someone had better get on that goose dog. There were geese and goosecrap all over the place!

The GE Sun has this update

http://www.suburbanchicagonews.com/glenellynsun/news/10..._GSCOYOTE_S1.article

In the wake of a series of complaints about coyotes, the village of Glen Ellyn has hired a professional trapper.
Rob Erickson of On Target Wildlife will observe and track down coyotes that are acting aggressively, are approaching people or appear to be sick.
Erickson is licensed with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and has worked in Cook County in association with Ohio University.
...
"We know they're out there," Woltman said. "We're happy they're out there. They've been helping control the Canada geese population."

Sounds like the Village Links needs to fire the goose dog and hire the coyotes.

Anything that reduces the number of those feathered s**tbags is alright by me.

I've got a 90 pound Bouvier that loves chasing geese, I've thought about getting her into that line of work. I imagine you need some kind of licensing.

The village links dog is semi-retired. He is almost 12 yrs old. Think there is a plan for a new dog sometime next spring. In the meantime, coyotes are doing double shifts at the links.
