After watching tonights debate between two spoiled brats, I dunno if I care anymore who wins... I just want it to be over.

i agree gus, the audience looked pretty pi**ed off. but were there 2 of you watching or 3? (is your wife your dearest liberal best friend?)

The debate audience was required to show no emotion as part of the candidate agreement.

The post-debate commentators also noted that the room temperature was so cold it made them think of the movie scene where Rocky Balboa was punching sides of beef.

That alone would make me have an unhappy expression!

I noticed that too. But I wondered if that was more a generational thing on McCains part.

Something else I caught.... McCain mentioned at one point that Reagan is his hero. He also mentioned that FDR was his hero. Seems to me those are two Presidents with little if anything in common... alomost to the point of being exact opposites. Was he trying to placate the far right with the Reagan comment? Was he trying to pander to those worried about our economic situation with the Roosevelt comment? I dunno.

tony, it was TEDDY roosevelt who is mccain's hero. you know, the "rough rider" "speak softly and carry a big stick." big difference: teddy roosevelt was one of the youngest presidents. (oh, and he was a vice-president who took over from an assinated president. President Palin. hmmmmm...very scary. halloween is coming...

Ah... my mistake. I caught "Roosevelt". Was probably when I was telling the kids to give it a rest already so I could hear the television.

In general, the age jokes are getting a bit tired. Pretty soon we'll be reduced to "[Comic] McCain is SO old..." [Audience]: How old is he?......."

If it makes you feel better, Clam tells me he is voting for the old b@stard. Not that it makes any difference in Illinois. It will be interesting to see if the ancient one can carry DuPage County.
