Daley says he will not run for re-election

Not totally surprising, his numbers have been declining. Any thoughts are who will be the most likely candidate to succeed him? Rahm?

I think it's more to do with his wife's health. Every election, his numbers were 'declining' - yet it seemed like every year he won pretty handily.

I just hope that whoever runs has the same love for the city that Mayor Daley, whatever his flaws, had and has.

Tom Dart would be an interesting choice

Wife's health as Dar said and the fact that Chicago is facing a severe budget crisis- not much left to sell. Maybe Rahm can get some Federal $ if elected.

Dart said it was wanting to spend more time with his family . Has five kids. Funny once Rahm entered the election he suddenly remembered he had a family.

I'm sure no one from the the Party had a little talk with him.

The beauty of the Federal government is that they can just keep on printing money.
