Yesterday was the last day for candidates to file for the April 5, 2011 election. There are three seat up for reelection. Commissioners Bill Dallman and Sandy Minogue are not seeking reelection.
The candidates are:
Catherine A. Galvin Edward P. Hess (incumbent) Don "Stuff" Stuffelbeam Hugh Johnson Kathy Cornell Gary Mayo Richard Dunn
Kathy Cornell is a Director on the Citizens for Glen Ellyn Preservation. I believe she also spoke out against the Ackerman woods issue as well as had concerns with the Memorial Field renovation.

Balance is kind of scarce. 7 candidates, only one quoteable is the incumbent? Several times? Sounds like his team has got a publicist.
Very dissapointing. I think the tone completely misses public sentiment. I hope that as the race goes on that the 'Others' will get a chance to be heard.
I absolutely welcome feedback, Ackerman, and I appreciate it. We plan on following the race, as I'm sure you are aware, and all candidates will have their chance to speak multiple times. This was an introductory story to the race that focused on the incumbents' decision to either run or not run. Thanks for the feedback, though. I always welcome and appreciate it.
