I thought they were taking that off the table, as the county already got their increase - the same amount as the referendum is asking - from that RTA tax increase.

Not surprising. More and more, people will continue to revolt against taxing bodies. We've been getting taxed to death over the last decade and the end is near. Enough is enough. And the vote counts are showing it.

Doesn't seem to show that in Wheaton 200 or D89... looks like an easy win for the latter and a tougher win for the former.

re the sales tax increase, I read in the paper, as well as got a little note at home, that it was expected we vote no on it, as it was superceded by mass transit vote earlier and was off the table, but just too late to remove it from the ballot. So, no surprise to me there. Question would have been what would have happened without the mass transit 'resolution'.
Looks like the school referendums passed, in Wheaton and Glen Ellyn - so I'm not sure there's a tax revolt in process when taxes make some sense (at least to me).
