Our esteemed State Senator from Chicago the Hon. James Meeks is pushing for a $3 billion real estate tax break while advocating an increase in the state income tax to the tune of $7 billion per year. Hmmm, I wonder how much GE will benefit from that one or the rest of the state for that matter. Is this clown telling me that the state of Illinois is $4 billion in the hole? If so, why is the state budget shortfall about $750 million? What's he planning to do with the extra loot?
Couple this with the tax hikes proposed by Hillary or Barak: Better start saving people.
Didn't Meeks sponsor a similar bill/proposal back in 2005? The plan was to increase Illinois' state income tax to 5 percent, from 3 percent and use a portion of the extra cash to help homeoners reduce property tax by establishing a "Property Tax Relief Fund". If you didn't own a home and made a decent salary you really would get nailed. Also the Trib did an analysis which showed the "reduction" in property tax breaks would not offset the increase in income tax hike for homeowners statewide. Simply, it was an attempt to redistribute wealth in order to "bridge a gap" between the have and have nots. This is why me and my wife work two jobs? Really pisses me off.
The bright side Gus, well, you can only be taxed up tp 100% of your income. We'll really have em by the balls on that day.
