What is odd to me is that Gus keeps pointing to the CRS link as something for everyone to check out, yet it is clear that he has not done so. If he did? He'd easily see the differences in the numbers that he posted versus what is really in Table 5 of the CRS document. Other people who have been called out on this garbage did almost the exact same thing, smugly, self-assuredly. Clearly, a trend. What annoys more than anything else is the Pierre Salinger-esque nature of the blind faith in something that just appears on a "computer". As if, just because it landed in someone's in-box and pushed all the right buttons, it HAS to be true. Have people become this thick-headed? |

GLEN ELLYN BB CIRCUIT COURT
PRESIDING JUDGE: RONKAS DA: AMY, ET AL DEFENDANT: GUS CHARGES: THE FORWARDING OF AN E MAIL CONTAINING INACCURATE INFORMATION AND DEFENSE THEREIN. PLEA: GUILTY AS CHARGED RECOMMENDED SENTENCE AS OUTLINED BY COMMON LAW AND JUDGE RONKAS: TAR AND FEATHER IN DOWNTONW GE AND SENSITIVITY TRAINING WITH AMY CLINTON AND SEN. FEINSTEIN FOR 1 MONTH STRAIGHT. MORE THOROUGH EXAMINATION OF ANY E MAILS DISTRIBUTED BY THE WWW. DA'S RECOMMENDATION: A LARGE SERVING OF HER HUMBLE PIE AND THE CONTINUING DISPLAY OF ALL COMMENTS REGARDING THIS THREAD AS AN EXAMPLE TO ALL. OTHER CHARGES: HAVING SEX WITH A WHITE HOUSE INTERN AND INHALING MARY JANE, BOTH CHARGES DROPPED DUE TO LACK OF EVIDENCE AND REPEATED DENIAL. SENTENCE WAS ISSUED BY JUDGE RONKAS ON APRIL 15, 2008. THE CONSUMPTION OF LARGE AMOUNTS OF DA'S HUMBLE PIE WAS THE DECISION RENDERED. INTO THE CASE IT WAS NOTED THAT ON THE FIRST YEAR OF PRES BUSH'S PRESIDENCY (SPETEMBER 1,2001) A VISCIOUS AND UNDECLARED ATTACK WAS BROUGHT FORTH UPON THE UNITED STATES BY FOREIGN ENEMIES WITH THE EXPRESS PURPOSE TO MURDER THOUSANDS OF US NATIONALS AND FOREIGNERS WHILE AT THE SAME TIME DISRUPTING THE US ECONOMY. THOUGH THIS ATTACK HAS NO BEARING ON THE FACTS OF THIS CASE, IT MIGHT EXPLAIN, TO SOME EXTENT, THE SLIGHTLY HIGHER CASUALTY RATE (16%) OF BUSH'S ACTIVE COMBAT FATALITIES IN THE FIRST 6 YEARS OF HIS TERM OF OFFICE AS COMPARED TO PRESIDENT CLINTONS 8 YEAR TENURE DURING PEACETIME. THIS SENTENCE DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO APPEAL AND IS CONSIDERED CLOSED. |

I make GREAT humble pie....see thread on spelling errors.
*kiss* *kiss* my dear Gus! And of course I'd expect more casualties during a war...that is definitely a no-brainer. Love ya! "The most valuable things in life are not measured in monetary terms. The really important things are not houses and lands, stocks and bonds, automobiles and real state, but friendships, trust, confidence, empathy, mercy, love and faith. " -Bertrand Russell V. Delong |

Poor Gus....I never saw this coming. He was such a nice man. Just a normal guy.

gee, gus...i'm so sorry. however, after watching "John Adams" on HBO a few weeks ago i'd like to request that we forego the tar and feathering (they showed a real T and F during colonial times and it was one of the worse things i've ever seen!) (GREAT series, watch it if you can) besides, the CBD is already a mess...
my husband has a retired WW II USAF uncle who sends us stuff all the time...recently, though, something about Barak Obama's Muslim roots was SO out there that my husband forwarded a snopes entry to ALL the old retirees cc'd on the email...and Uncle cried uncle. oh well. BB love, Gus! |

Absolutely! I'm trying to negotiate a date in which to host a slushie-consuming gathering. I'll let you know!

Well good. On more than one occasion, I have heard these wildly untrue "chain email" allegations, falsehoods and innuendo turn up in real, live social situations. You know, family BBQs, neighborhood beer parties and so on. One that I have heard repeated, over and over and over again by otherwise well-meaning people is the infamous old fable that "Ollie North warned Al Gore about Osama bin Laden" back in the 1980s. That one is such a dung pile, so over-the-top, so completely and totally WRONG, Ollie North himself had to put together a rebuttal of it. Snopes can be trusted and should ALWAYS be at least, a starting point. If you have the time to pass along lies and BS, you should have the time to verify the accuracy of what you are passing along. |

Dear BTN: was it a falsehood when the Sudanese told Clinton to come and get Bin Laden while he was residing in Sudan? Maybe you can clarify that for me.

The Defendant has already entered his plea, and Judgment has been entered. Will the Defendant please delete his first post and start a new "Bash Bill Clinton" thread?

Dear Ronkas: as I said, I'm brave enough not to delete my posts, unlike you.
Just answer the question if you have the answer. Read this when you have a chance from your favorite news network! http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,351313,00.html Could be hogwash though and I do not certify it's authenticity. BTW Ronkas, stay tuned for the debate tonight. Should be a dandy! |

I have no idea if it was a falsehood or not. What I do know is that bin Laden has never been "gotten" by any American president. I deal only with verifiable truths and facts. Nothing more. No woulda-coulda-shouldas. No "what might've beens". Strictly by the numbers. Look, I agree with you on many things that you post on this bulletin board. What you must always be careful with is making statements or posting ga-ga that undermines your credibilty. Avoid the "if it feels good, DO IT" mantra of the 1960s hippies. Check it out first or you risk looking foolish. If you ask me, the author of the email you posted was a lefty who knew damn well that many righties would lap it up like cream. In other words, a troll. |
