If you like her, she did a great job, answered the questions and left no doubt in your mind that she is qualified.
If you don't like her, she did a poor job, danced around the questions and left no doubt in your mind she is not qualified. I think they can dispense with the rest of the campaign, save the money and hold the election tomorrow. I'm of the opinion that nothing over the next 50 some odd days is going to change anyones mind and if it does, will probably cancel each other out. |

My wife, an Obama supporter, watched the interview with me. She actually said, "Why is he (Gibson) being such a d!$k?"
It's the spending, Stupid! |

Bravo, ear-ringer. You just answered my prayers. I have finally found someone else out there that feels as I have felt for
the past several months. It is my opinion that the Dems had an impossible to lose scenario two months ago. Put Hillary on
the ticket and put it on cruise control. So what happens? The Reps do what the Dems should have done all along. Now all we
have to do is wait. Silly Democrats...I like Joe Biden, but in this case, they could have slated an actually donkey and their
fate would have been the same...perhaps better.
So, I think what ear-ringa is saying is that we should extend the 9/11 moratorium banning all stupid, repetitive, and counterproductive political talk (though I think we should keep the photoshopped pictures coming) that will sway no one and simply tear us, the good, wholesome people of Glen Ellyn, apart until 11/5. Isn't that what you are saying? |

I agree Clam, except for, "What is your interpretation of the Bush Doctrine?"
That was some good TV, she had no idea what he was talking about.....I have seen that look on my 6 year olds face when I ask him how the glass of water spilled, when he is trying to figure out a good excuse. |

Clam: That is exactly what I'm saying.

But it doesn't matter, does it? When was the last time a VP actually did anything? Even if the old dude croaks three days
into his term, the smart people won't let the new President make any decisions. Presidents don't do any real work, do they?
The just sign **** and attend state dinners.

Of interest; Check out the ABC News website and click on Charles Gibson. When it was announced that he was going to host
the first interview with Palin, the posted comments, (hundreds) demand that he ask tough questions...blah-blah-blah.
Post interview, the posted comments are mostly negative responses to his questions , demeanor lack of respect...blah-blah-blah! It is right down the middle. |

I think everyone comes here for different reasons. I agree with Clam about all stupid, repetitive, and counterproductive political talk However, not talking about an issue as critical as the Presidency is ridiculous. It would be nice to agree to disagree with some civility, respect and decency. A talking head (Gergen I think?) summed it up for me last night when he said essentially "Enough of the spitballs. Easy to shoot a spitball from afar, but you don't shoot spitballs at the person next to you!" Easy to shoot spitballs here under anonymity (I'm guilty as the next), nice to stop shooting them, we are after all right next to one another, neighbors, a community. |

At this point - and similar points in prior campaigns - I've seriously wondered how any minimally sentient being could still
be undecided. Whether you end up voting for one candidate or the other, there certainly are all kinds of reasons for just
about anyone to choose.
I think there are a lot of people, tho, who simply have not paid much if any attention so far. The election equivalent of last minute x-mas shoppers. The don't HAVE to make a choice until November, and they aren't all that interested in politics, so they simply aren't going to dedicate any brain matter to making a decision until the last possible moment. (Whether or not they end up dedicating any significant amount of brain matter at that time is up for question...) Other people seem to think that events will occur during the final weeks of a campaign that will give them a reason to vote one way or the other. For these folks, a candidate's character, qualities, and experience as established through a lengthy primary is of less importance than the opportunely timed soundbite. |

Took me all day, but I got it. The "anonymity" was not directed to anyone, just an observation of the reality to make the point. This message has been edited. Last edited by: shrugged, |

If there is anyone who is still undecided, may I ask without judgment, what do you still need to find out?

I agree with GE Fan.

No question about your leadership ability, Potts. Remember what your mother always said. "You are judged by the company you
keep". Watch out for that Fan dude. Mr. Obama could have used that advise as well.

Your statement was very interesting, If you have time, would you elaborate. Thanks How's that Hope & Change Working Out? Over 10% Unemployment |

The election actually starts sooner than many think. There are many states that allow absentee balloting to begin in October.
Something could happen on Halloween and millions of votes could already be cast. I'm a procrastinator, so I'll wait until
election day to vote for Obama.

I've known Barack Obama peripherally for 14 years and have always known him to be a man of integrity, kindness and extreme brilliance. However, I also know him to be an extreme liberal. He has the potential to lead this country to new heights...he also has the very great potential to hasten the economic slide and install a new form of socialism upon us. That will likely help others, some that need it and others who, quite frankly, don't deserve the help given their efforts in life, but will hurt ME financially. McCain, who I've met several times, has never quite done it for me. But he is safe...and his tax plans will benefit ME financially. That's what GE Fan probably meant as I agreed with him. |
