When I saw the post heading, I thought you might be referring to this "Bob".
Probably would be a better choice, the kind of guy that could get the state through hard times. I know I would have a swelling of pride if Bob were our Governor.

No offense to any life long residents of the Chicago area, but I think it is time to get a downstater in office. I think Edgar was the last gov in the past 20-30 years to hail from downstate. I was sick of seeing blago hanging out at his house in the city and now I'm tired of seeing Quinn at everyother function in Chicago...time to get some distance from Chicago machine politics...
What worries me is that yeah, Blago was apparently a corrupt but not very savvy Il Pol ( no dirt on the other pols to protect his a.- apparently he couldn't even make a decent buck out of it) but Quinn won't agree to a budget that cuts social services to those in need either (which was a big bad Blago "hold up the budget thing"). I find myself agreeing with Quinn and Blago and which means I'm not sure who's more corrupt- the gov's or the rest of the elected officals. Ick.
Anyone else continuing to get robo-calls asking questions about Schillerstrom. I answered one fully about 2 weeks ago, and then they called me again last weekend.
The one person who I think has contributed the most to our states current problems is Mike Madigan. He has been in power since the 70's and little if anything gets done in this state without his approval. I would also blame Jim Thompson though he can't be voted out he laid the groundwork for the problems we're having now.
Honorable mentions should go to Governor Ryan, Mayor Daley and Blagoevich. The entire GOP for not having one decent candidate since Edgar retired.
I'm tempted to add the heads of various public unions but they were in a sense doing their jobs which was looking out for #1. The politicians were the ones who cared more for winning re-election than the future of the state.
And while were looking for someone to blame maybe we should look in the mirror as well.
I blame the Trib for cozying up to Ryan,Daley and the people in Springfield. Yeah they got religion now but its to late.
