Yet he won't wear a flag pin on his lapel? I must now go pray. Which way is mecca?

My inability to spell "Tomasello" is probably a very good indication that I don't really drink it. Wink

Squabble is putting it rather mildly. What I do get a kick out of is the inability of (D) party to pull their crap together for an election that should have otherwise been handed to them.

You are an angry, bitter person, aren't you?

Seriously, the allusions to Obama being Muslim are pathetic. I respect a person's right to their beliefs and if he is uncomfortable wearing a flag on his lapel, I can understand that. It's sort of like wearing your heart on your sleeve, is it not? And that is not always advisable.

It amazes me the cheap shots that continue rather than simply saying, "I disagree with his stand on _______ issue." It's ugly really.

Richard Nixon wore a flag pin. Frown

And any illusions to "Mecca" and Barack show a good level of spitefulness on your part. This type of garbage (flag pins, the Muslim connection, Hillary's tears, all of it) defect from the VERY REAL issues at hand...and the likes of Sean Hannity are perpetuating this for ratings (and their own pocketbooks.) (Hannity is in the process of buying a 10M long island mansion....sounds VERY elitist to me!) The vast majority of the Muslims who live right here in our area are just like you in many ways. Nobody hated the Irish in the 70's, yet they had a minority who were significant terrorists (both at home and abroad(England.)
All in the name of God....

And you know, if you've had any exposure to an area (say, Michigan) where economic failure has been going on for more that 30 years you get groups like the Michigan Militia (who were a source of influence for the Oklahoma City bombers...) Obama didn't express himself well, but the gist of his idea...bad economies lead to extreme reactions (guns, religion, antipathy) has truth to it. Watching the John Adams story on HBO these last weeks reminds us that our own Revolution was inspired by the practise of Taxation without Representation...
"it's the economy, stupid."

Then he would be Gene McCarthy, wouldn't he?

Sean Hannity is not elitist. Just an ***. In his world, he DESERVES this display of wealth. See, it's the American Dream.

On the other hand, people like Hannity and his ilk view Obama as another of those old descriptions - Uppity.

I hereby withdraw my support of Barak Obama or Hillary Clinton due to the tax increases they have already pledged to levy upon the middle class of America who already foot some 85% of the total tax bill. These tax increases will make the phase in from D41 look like peanuts one must note.

In an economy near or at recession, a tax increase would be reckless. What needs to happen is a budgetary diet imposed on the government sector without sacrificing national defense.

respectfully submitted,

Gus and family (including Buddy Love & Kitty).

Have a nice day Big Grin

Howdy, we are on the polar opposites when it comes to the role of government and spending our tax dollars. The most inefficient way to distribute monies to the less fortunate is via the federal or state government for that matter. There is no sense of belt tightening since Reagan and Stockman led the initial charge. Wheter you like it or not, the US generally plays the role of the world's policeman. A role that was taken on during WW1.

Bye for now.

gus, i've really come around to your way of thinking on many a local taxation/spending issue...and i do agree with you that our tax monies are often wasted...
but still, where is the belt tightening in carrying on an EXTREMELY expensive war...and cutting taxes? if i spend more, but bring in less...well, you see the picture.

But hey, he refrained from innuendo, conjecture, and sound biting! I'll take it! By the way, I can't say I've ever heard either candidate say they will raise taxes on the middle class....can you tell me where to find that information? I'd like to see it - and in context. Thank you very much for playing along, Gus! Big Grin

I think the target income level for a couple filing jointly is 200K. In today's dollars, that's a big chunk of the middle class here in the good ole USA.

Finally, absolutely no doubt in my mind that Iran is working to enrich enough Uranium to build an A Bomb, unless they are using the same bluff tactic that Saddam used. Regardless, Obama has pledged to take them out. If so, get ready for another expensive war.

Gus-What would give you that idea?

Oh yeah, that whole thing about destroying Israel. And purchasing rockets capable of delivering warheads pretty much anywhere in the Middle East and parts of Europe. And their constant funding of the insurgency in Iraq. But besides that?

I couldn't agree more. Don't knock the rich. When did a poor person ever give you a job?

Isn't this Bitter's homage to Hillary? Why are you guys worried about Iran? ABC and Hannity are not. (Thank you Ted, for your edit of the Biblical reference for donkey I made about slopehead Sean) I think this would be an appropriate time to pledge our love to women with cheeks that look like ping pong balls. I had nuns who looked at me like that in school. There's a word for that. Smug.

Actually. . . No I'm not. Not angry and certainly not bitter. I'm sweet, kind and gentle Smile Uncomfortable wearing a flag pin on his lapel? Too heavy? Does it poke him? The suit is a rental? I just don't get it? Hello. . . . .He wants to hold the highest office in the WORLD he shows no respect for this country and his dumb arsed wife rants and raves at what a terrible place the U.S.A. is. If the President (hopefully not) doesn't show respect for the flag, this country and what it stands for, then he has no right or business trying to hold that office. You really need to open your eyes dear girl and explore his past, you may also want to study some U.S. History to find out what it took to make this country GREAT!
