First, congratulations to Barak Obama and those who have supported him. Though not my first choice for President, I have no doubt he is probably one of the most intelligent and well spoken people elected to the office of President in recent memory.

Last night as a watched the celebration unfold in Grant park, there were a few isolated moments that made my stomach turn-celebrity hanger ons.

About an hour before the acceptance speech, ABC 7's Charles Thomas told us Brad Pitt may be at the rally. Oh boy. My wife met Brad once, he was an arrogant ***. But hey, why not he was sleeping with both Angelina and Jen at the same time. Watch your daughters, Barak.

Then we had the interviews with some of my favorite race baiters, Spike Lee and Jesse Jackson. Spike was wearing his Yankee cap in Chicago, and I was praying some White sox fans would come along and beat his a$$. Jesse had tears in his eyes, but I think it was more due to the fact that he relised he can no longer play the race card. Cheer up Jesse, the world needs carnival barkers.

Then we were treated to multiple shots of a weepy Oprah. AAArrrgghhh, I hate that oversized attention whore. Can you believe it was news that Oprah had to use a Porta-Potty!? Oh the humanity! Roll Eyes

On the plus side (sorry Oprah)I thought the interviews with the regular folks were great. These are the folks that won the election for Obama by getting the youth vote and raising over a half billion dollars for the Obama campaign. I'm sure Oprah and Brad are patting their respective backs, congratulating themselves, I just hope Barak doesn't become seduced by Hollywood like the Clinton's did.

One thing is certain, judging from this mornings coverage, the rest of the world (sans Russia) likes the USA again, so we got that going for us.
