Chicago Tribune chimes in on Dan Cronin's attempt to put the Water Commission under the County. Or, more correctly, they [rightfully] question why the mayors of the Charter Member towns are paying $100,000 for lobbyists to block Cronin.

Flush with money

The Daily Herald explained where/how the lobbying money is coming from this past Sunday. Each Charter Member is expected to pay their share [subject to a vote], where their "share" is based upon how much water they buy from the DPWC.

Looks like Glen Ellyn's share of the lobbying tab to maintain the status quo [no accountablity, setting rates lower than cost, blah, blah] is $4,241.

Water commission fight splitting DuPage municipalities

Not all Charter members are going along with this lobbying effort and it looks like Addison, which came up with the initial $100K and likely expects to be reimbursed, might be on the hook for more than they thought.
