I'm sure others have got these but does anyone find them somewhat offensive?
Basically it starts with "You have been selected from a sample of political leaders in your area...." whatever that means.. to take a survey on the Obama Agenda (Or whatever agenda). The survey has the most blatantly biased questions: Like "Do you believe the so-called "stimulus" bill has been a failure?". I mean it's like being asked if you like it when your cat coughs up a hairball on the carpet. And then to top it off they tell you not even to bother sending in your survey unless you send at least $13 (if you're poor), otherwise at least $25. What? You mean you really care about my opinion, for a price. Right. I usually vote for the best candidate regardless of party but when I get this kind of RNC smoke up your a** crap it helps me understand a little more about their problems and makes me less likely to support their candidates. |

I suppose it's just a reflection on the average voter/citizen swallowing this bs. Don't know what the average educational level in the US is currently, but back in the old college days it was about 8th grade. I imagine its higher now but that might be because educational standards may have slipped.
I don't know why we have parties anymore. I understand the concept 100- 200 years ago before mass communication. Now I personally care more about the individual running rather than his "party" affiliation. Cripes I sound like a crank. Geezer hood could be knocking at my door. |

We need to go back to the concept of citizen legislators in the House, at least. Some of these reps have been in so long, they forgot what it was like to be a citizen...

Yes @ Bio and yes at DTM!
Bio, it blows my mind how many people buy into blatantly obvious marketing BS....and not just in politics. I agree whole-heartedly with you about the party affiliations as well. What difference does it make? Why do they have to have an affiliate? DTM: You are dead on with that one as well. It's like the CEOs on that Sunday night tv show....they've been in the "upper circle" so long that they've completely forgotten what it's like to be on the front line. Should I give up, or should I just keep chasing pavements....even if it leads nowhere - Adele |
