Is there any one source of information (web site) that lists all judges running in DuPage County along with their records? With the mail, I have received a $hitload of stuff but haven't really kept any of it.

BB All you need to know is to vote for Demling and Fawell for Judges. Throw out the rest of the stuff you get in the. Oh and don't forget to vote for Deb Olsen and Grant Eckhoff in the county board race. Peace
Two spots are just voting to give two judges, I believe it may be called a promotion, for vacancies left by two judges that are now gone/retired. These judges will still have their regular jobs in the county after the election I believe. (maybe I'm wrong?) Actually it would be nice to get all new judges. Start fresh! Mix it up! Dems and Reps! - ha-in DuPage County?
These positions turn over. All new judges would be disastrous. At least these candidates have a track record as judges. You really don't go wrong with any of these candidates.
I have appeared before Demling, French, and Fawell. All good. French got some unfortunate press from the IPod incident in small claims court, but she gives lawyers enough room to work in the Law division.
Demling and Fawell are both divorce judges. French used to be on the divorce bench. Demling moved to French's divorce court when she moved out of Domestic Relations.
Thanks. Demling was at the train station the other day, he was also at the first session of "Coffee with the Cops". Didn't know who he was at that time, but I thought to myself, damn! this guy knows alot about GE and it's ordinances. I'll figure it out before Tues.

Originally posted by Grateful: Deb Olson rocks. She is a very solid person with anti tax as a major part of what she stands for.
Speaking of tax, this noon I got a sandwhich and a fountain drink from a food store near my work (in the Loop). Usually I don't look at the receipt in great detail, but happened to this time and saw that Cook charged 9% sales tax on the sandwhich and drink and an additional 2% just on the drink. It was described as "beverage tax". What the F***?

Didn't you know - Cook funds most of its programs with "out of towners" taxes. That's why there are the huge hotel/amusement/dining (even if it's only at Subway!) taxes.
Youngest child was shocked when I informed him approximately how much (percentage only) of the household income goes to taxes - including all of the various levels and forms. This came up in conversation, since they are discussing the elections at school.
Back on topic - we met Jay Kinsella when out for a walk this fall. He was going door to door and we stopped and spoke with him for a while. He seemed like a very nice guy. Anyone have a reason to not vote for him?
