Oh my. Will Joe Birkett really quit if the judges appoint him to the bench? Some guys just put in their application. Others have really big feet and put out a press release.
Can't wait to see him handling foreclosures. How about evictions? There have to be 50 better qualified lawyers in DuPage County who won't be drawing a pension from the County, while getting time in for a pension as a Judge. |

I think I'm missing a part of the story.
For us non-lawyers types, can you explain what's the deal with Joe Birkett? "Everyone thinks their opinion matters. Don't argue with a nobody. A farmer doesn't bother telling a pig his breath smells like s***." |

Here's the story from the Trib.
The deal with Joe is that he has wasted huge amounts of taxpayer money on death penalty trials that never had to go that way. Lemak and Dugan for starters. The guilty pleas were there. Take them and move on. He also rivals Jesse Jackson for his affinity for publicity. |

Are you sure you are not just jealous that we won't be hearing "all rise for the honorable judge RMK"?
“just like in real life there's still rules on this team. Unlike real life? Nobody's above the rules on this field." – Coach Eric Taylor |

A lovely job. A lovely pension. A lovely health insurance plan.
However, you have to put up with people like Fan. And me. Would not want that job |
