As I was saying, neither party or politician, at this particular time, warrants a term to the white house.

Gus. To what do you attribute the Oberweis loss? Democratic infiltration or blowhard politics? I thought Lauzen could give Foster a better battle.

I find it interesting that the Republicans are now eating their young and blaming it on the Democrats. Doesn't this diatribe break Reagan's 11th commandment?

When was Illinois last redistricted? That map shows a wee bit of Gerrymandering.

As I have posted before Ronkas, I am disgusted with the Republican Party of Illinois and their past pork politics and corruption. Equally ditto for the Dems. You seem to ignore the mess in Cook County and Springfield and miss the point of my past and recent postings. Oberweiss was not the man to put forth and Illinois has changed as a whole, for the worse IMO, which is an opinion I'm entitled to. Seems you are with me on that one as it relates to school funding, pensions, etc.

There are always rivalries and competition within each party. I know for a fact that Cronin, when elected, faced a lot of criticism and questions from his own party. It's apparent the GOP of Illinois is taking an inward look at itself whereas the Dems seem to be business as usual.

Finally, I guess you are saying you don't like St. Ronnie huh!! Jimmy Carter more your type?!

I don't disagree with you Gus. I know that's a surprise. But the Republican Party in Illinois has been wounded by their own arrogance. Many of the shenanigans in the Ryan Secretary of State office were continuations of the previous office holder's blind management style.

If you give any candidate 3 shots at different offices, and that candidate brings new meaning to the word "infighting", he doesn't deserve another shot. But Oberweis, now a 4 time loser, will run again in the fastest growing area of Illinois. And lose.

What puzzles me is the venom directed toward the wrestling coach. He was the glue applied after Newt's egocentricity got the best of him. He held things together for the House, to his detriment I believe. But he still presided over an ever expanding deficit. It's the economy that is most important. Except for 2006, votes are still determined, as LBJ said, by the jingle in the jeans.

As a matter of fact, I admired Reagan. He articulated a cause. That's what a good leader does. I may not have agreed with him, but he garnered respect. Carter? Please. If the election were held on the third Tuesday of November, instead of the first, Ford would have won.

As I read the papers every day, the issues with Blago will overshadow the antics of Ryan, et al.

Now we'll have to see if it spills over to Barak.
