Long boarding has become much more popular in the recent future. They are used for fun, travel, and the occasional race. I would just like to see who would be up for holding a long boarding race/festival. A few blocked off roads, a prize contributed from my long board sponsor, and food and entertainment and all of the money would go to a local charity (Glen Ellyn Food Pantry, Kids Caring 4 Kids, etc.). Just respond to this saying what you think about it. Nothing is "for sure" yet. As for now, it's just an idea. Thanks!

Jack, nice to see another longboarder here. If you get any interest in this, PM me. I am an old fart (skated back in the days of Stacy Peralta and Tony Alva), but I still ride and would like to volunteer if you get something together.

I hate to admit this, but I have a very good acquaintance at a high-end board builder company in CA. Anyway, my kid wanted a new LB for his birthday so I called my buddy. He knows I have been wanting a LB for quite some time (48 years old, 200 pounds overweight). He finally convinced me to get one. I figured if I really hated it I could sell it used for a good amount more than my friends and family purchase price. Stay tuned to learn which bone/ligament is broken/torn first.

I am hoping that this makes up my dearly departed Xooter that the kids got stolen.

Clamato, you know my street has a slightly more gentle hill, nothing like two fat old farts boarding down it with a beer in their hands!

We live near a large patch of flatness . . . which is where I will be spending my time until I figure out how to not kill myself.

Never had a skateboard as a kid. Maybe that's what the desire is. Either way, I am accident prone as all hell. So I'll be keeping Marc Asselmeier's number on the speed dial.

Would love to have my Xooter back. If you came into possession of a metal Xooter and you don't know how, or you stole one a year or so ago, please let me know and I will come and get it.
