Not sure about that. I may call Zook and let him know that Illinois will likely be out of the running shortly as the Coach would not do anything to cause me joy. Smile

Glenbard West's center/guard Chris Watt has offers from Northwestern, Illinois, Ohio State, and Arizona among others early on. Watt's mom is an Illini grad and his brother plays ball for Northwestern. Chris says he is 'open' but early all indications are that he will play his college ball with his older brother in Evanston for Northwestern.

From another site.

Apparently you missed the line in the first cited article - Chris would really like to be part of a team that will win a National Championship . . . . Big Grin

So Northwestern seems like a great fit. Is he on the forensics team?

If he's sticking with his stated desire to win a championship "at the next level," I think you can safely assume he was just shopping offers. It was a nice weekend for a drive . . . . Wink

I heard also that Stanford made a "soft" offer contingent on his getting his GPA up a tad.

He's a great kid, from a very nice down-to-earth family, and it's so nice to see him achieve this success!

There has been no commintment that I have heard. But I think that some people such as some news reporters and such need to give Chris a break, he has alot of colleges to look over until he decides on which one to go to. Does he have any other siblings or is this the last of the Watts?

The Watt boys have a sister who is a freshman. She is also a good athlete who I believe is zeroing in on soccer.

Oh well I guess not more Watt football games after Chris now we will all have to watch futbol. Seems like a really good family hopefully Chris will choose a college that will be not only good at football but also a good all around enviorment.

I was told - though have not confirmed for myself - that Chris has moved into the number ONE spot for Illinois prospects on Rivals.com. I think he moved past that Drummond kid from Morgan Park.

Apparently Chris has excellent tape to view on that site - I saw some, but not all of his hits. I mean, how many times can you watch a kid aggressively chasing down opposing players and crushing them into the ground?!? Wink

He is number one in IL. But yes you are right that kid crushed like no other. I have heard from many people that Chris has been offered two more scholorships putting him at 22 offers.

If he is smart, a great kid and a great player, I hope he goes to Notre Dame. I gotta go now and hide. Incoming.
