I've heard the Flames owe Center Ice hundreds of thousands of dollars...they could use it. We've been going there several times a week for years and years. Good people - building could use some work. They have a new club - the Admirals.

Yes, I heard that too, Amy. Its to bad, cause my kids loved that place since starting skating lessons there long ago with Ron, the General Manager who also owned the little skating rink on Park Ave. just south of Roosevelt. He gave lessons at both places. He was sent away to the clink, though for what i am not sure.
Strange that there is a money discrepancy and the long time president of the flames is now a consultant for the Admirals and the rink owner?

As a coach...our team owed nothing...to anyone. See what you have started, MS???
BTW, one of us on this board had a family member that used to own that littel skating rink on Park...let me think...hmmmmm...who was it?

Ron went to the clink for reasons that I will not repeat but you could probably find articles....it was very sad and somewhat suprising to me. It was hard to explain to our kids. My son was very little at the time and Ron used to let him go touch the zambone machine.... Clam, I think the families paid what they were supposed to but the person in charge didn't pass it all along to the rink....at least that's my understanding and I, admittedly could be wrong.

Yes! And he apparently didn't "like" little boys....

easy, boy! that was decades ago. we're talkin' before-you-were-born decades. don't try and link my family with the seamy business that went down there a couple years ago. that's not playin' fair. i know you like to bend the truth on this BB for fun and excitement (and lots of folks take you for your word), but you need to chill on this line of below-the-belt innuendo, fella. don't go there, capisce? i understand you didn't name anyone (a shrewd teflon tactic you play very well, time and again), but i'd appreciate a clarifying post from you. thx in advance.

Not certain what you are referring to, my mildly psychotic good friend. The thread never went that way (the molestation way, apparently) until after I posted about a certain WELL-RESPECTED family's involvement in the ownership of the littel skating rink.
For then record, my post from October 9, 2007 at 6:07AM which can be viewed above was not intended to associate nor smear t.a. superette nor any members of his/her family. To the contrary, my friends.
In a more disturbing twist, I have to admit that there is an incident which apparently occurred in GE that I have no knowledge of. Try as I might I can't find shizzle on Google regarding the incident(s). If anyone can give me the words that I can use to do a Google search about this, please forward them along.

Good one! Evidently he liked bigger/older ones though! Five years in the clink....perhaps he got his cumupance!

I didn't want to repeat what would seem more like gossip than news but I found a story from a few years ago. It wasn't a boy....

Don't think so. Another year or two, I think.

I guess so.
