If I was on his team, and knew his children and their history of breaking bones, I would work my butt off for fear of Clam Rath coming down on me....

The inaugural game of your Glen Ellyn/Lacrosse America Boys 5-6 Badgers was a success.

Glen Ellyn 7
Oak Park/River Forest 0

Penalties were 5 for GE/1 for OP/RF. My recollection is one for unnecessary roughness, one for a late hit after the whistle and one technical for no mouth guard. All-in-all, a clean game that was nicely called by Quinn the referee.

3 minor injuries for their side (no broken bones for those who think my involvement would necessitate such an event), none for our sturdy lads.

Pictures on Tuesday. If anyone wants a 5x7 team photo, let me know. I think they are reasonably priced.

If for some reason any of you find yourselves in St. Charles on Saturday morning, the game is at 11:00 at Cranston Meadows Park.

St. Charles 7
Glen Ellyn 6

Given the history of the game in St. Charles, I was very much expecting a blow out by them. Our guys held up very well. Gave up the winning goal in the last two minutes.

On the second drive out to St. Charles in two weeks...far NW corner of St. Charles...I decided that it was time to take a page out of the Fish playbook...the page that says that winning is the most important part of playing...and we were successful. I'd like to thank him for opening my eyes.

St. Charles Blue 7

Next week...Wheaton. I'll expect all of you there and hope you'll be wearing your Badger paraphernalia.

Where in Wheaton?

I think I might be up for sitting on my duff and cheering on Clam's young Bohemians.
