Hi:
My son has taken various golf workshops over the years and I want to get him a few private lessons at the Links. Anyone have experience with any of the golf pros [for some lessons for a 14 year old (pretty inexperienced) golfer]?

Thanks!

Thanks for the tip, GE Fan and I will keep it in mind. Unfortunately I have a job and 2 other kids-so finding the time to drive to/from Oak Brook is probably not going to happen. He is just a casual player that needs some guided practice-so the Links is our closest and easist location.

see if there are any openings for the one day 9am-3pm days of golf at the Links(50.00 for the day, if i remember correctly.) they learn in the morning, have lunch, and then play golf in the pm...maybe you could carpool with someone to get over there. it's a good day and i think they learn alot (and you haven't committed to weekly lessons.)

Thanks howdy60137-we have done the one day 9-3 lessons in the past summers. My son has some motor skill difficulties and I am really looking for someone to do some practicing with him one on one (but not me or his father, as we don't really know what we are doing either!). While the all day lesson/golf is fun for him, he gets lost in the shuffle of group lessons.

I am really looking to see if anyone has worked with any of the guys over there that they had a good experience with-I am sure they are all fine, but it always helps to have a name.

Thanks!

I am a big supporter of Doug Pinns at the Links. I have taken lessons with him for the past 5 years, during which I have reduced my handicap and improved in all areas of the game. I don't recommend businesses or tradesmen very frequently, but Doug is one of very few exceptions. Two of my friends have taken lessons from him at my recommendation and were very pleased.

Noel seems to teach a lot of young people, and I have been impressed by him in all of my dealings with him, but I have never taken lessons from him.
