My company has landed a 12 week project requiring frequent travel to Lubbock TX. I drew the short straw and will be heading there on Wednesday. Forecast ... daily highs between 96 and 98 (but it's that dry heat).

Has anyone ever been there? Is there any decent dining? Any entertainment of note?

Spines,

I spent the better part of two years in Lubbock back in the mid 90's. It is amazingly fun for a small town. I was just out of college and it is truly a college town (Texas Tech)(Get your guns up).

The flight into Lubbock is one of the scariest flights you will take, as it is always windy. It is very easy to find your way around the town as it is surrounded by one big loop.

I am sure alot has changed since my days down in West Texas, on the otherhand, I am sure not alot has changed. If you have some downtime, drive up to Amarillo to eat at the Old Texan. Drive down to Midland and see how the Oil Industry built their own little oasis down there, and then abandoned it...

West Texas, where men are men, and sheep run scared......

Have fun....
