You can go check out the new football stadium. I think they are almost done.

ronkas!!! shame on you! I few up near Indy.

The time trials are probably going on soon for the Indy 500 so you can catch the practices during the week and time trials on the weekends.

Broad Ripple is a really interesting, eclectic neighborhood with coffee shops and good restaurants.

The Indianapolis Zoo is very nice as well.

Are you going by yourself or with family? I might have some more ideas.

Dear IMJ: like Amy said, head to the Brickyard and watch practice/time trials. If you are not a racing fan now, you will be when you see these babies whip by you at 220+ into and through a corner.

Well crap! I guess that's what I get for typing fast.

I should have added that ronkas should apologize for slamming Indy since my parents still live there and both plan to vote for Obama in the primary. Neither of them have EVER voted for a democratic presidential candidate in the primary.

I still would like to hear more from IMJ about when he will be there and if he's taking the fam or going alone. I can probably come up with a bunch more suggestions.

As per Fish's "few up" note, I also threw up in Indy - numerous times with the most memorable event occurring when I was about four....running down my parents dark green carpeted hallway hoping to make it to the bathroom. I didn't. Razz

Jager...or is it Yeager?

Either way, a jaggerbomb sounds less than tasty.

Which is more disturbing, Bitterboy's smoking baby or this gem?

To be completely accurate, I suppose it needs to be "Jäger Bombs."

I would not subject my family to a week in Indy. I am going strictly on business and I should have a couple of afternoons free. I will probably take in the Brickyard, that could be interesting.

Thanks for all the recommendations.......

Yes, the track is fun. There are some really good restaurants too. I'll ask my parents - they've mentioned a few but I haven't been home in a while.

There might be some minor league baseball going on too: Indianapolis Indians
