Hey, will be traveling to Pittsburgh shortly. Will be staying downtown, near Penn Ave. and Tenth St., just west of The Strip area. Any suggestions on must eats??

Middlein,

I’m in Pittsburgh all the time…

When I’m taking customers out I usually go to:

Grand Concourse in Station Square – Great riverview and the seafood is always good. Also an awesome Sunday Brunch.

Georgetown Inn on Mount Washington because it is the most incredible view in all of Pittsburgh. The food is American and is good, but it’s really all about the view.

I often go to:

Primanti Brothers – Deli that puts Fries and coleslaw on this huge sandwich.

Quaker Steak & Lube – Cheap and kind of fun burger joint

Original Fish Market in the Westin – Great Sushi

Cozumel Mexican Restaurant in Shadyside. Small locals place, with really great food.

My favorite Pittsburgh restaurant is a block from your hotel (Penn & 9th)… Nine on Nine is an outrageously expensive place with a 3 course or 5 course fixed price menu. Trust me go here and you will love it!
Nine On Nine

I should add Station Squarehas tons of places... some good some bad. Just booked my room at the Sheraton Station Square today.

Perplexed makes his living as a home burglar. He lured you in like a Northern Pike.

I can see his house from my office window, I wouldn't have to ask. Yer a funny guy MR. Clamato.

I take that back, I just looked outside... I can see his house (at least the one I think is his) in the Winter.

I just cancelled my hotel reservation… I need a break, haven’t missed one in 10 years. Also, my technical committee is meeting again on June 1st, so I really didn’t want to be in Pittsburgh twice in 30 days.

Can I ask what your booth number is?

Bad mistake, we could have been at Nine on Nine on me. Unless you're a competitor. Then I'd have to board check you into the Allegheny River.

You will be happy to know we are not even close to the same field although we obviously have the same customers. Have you ever done this show before? I was talking with the show manager last week and she says it's going to be a great show.

HEY!! We really should talk before you go.

As a followup, Perplexed, we wound up not going anywhere good.

I had some work to do Monday night. Wound up at PNC park on Tuesday night. Flew out Wed. afternoon.

Oh well.

I did get to walk past Nine on Nine on the way back from the ballpark!

Sorry you didn't get to any of the good places...

Next year is St. Louis, so I have no excuse for not going. Know any good places there to eat?
