I second Le Pavillion, but it's a few blocks outside of the French Quarter. It's a beautiful old hotel and reasonably priced.

The Aquarium was a great place. It lost the majority of its collection in Katrina however. I'm not certain whether it has reopened, and if so, to what extent.

We stayed back in 2001 at laginappe B&B and thought it was great. its a little place run by very nice people, 1/2 way between the French quarter and the Garden district and a couple of blocks from the street cars. personally I liked the garden district better than the French quarter (it smelled better)

try camilla grill (if you like a good old-school diner) and cafe du monde.

Lagniappe Bed & Breakfast
(I'm getting the hang of this posting business...)

There's always Angie & Brad's place...they'd never notice the extra people with their entourage...just pick up a kid and carry him/her around every once in a while.

How can I forget? I remember the first time we heard it we were walking down the street in our Illini gear and we hear these LSU fans across the street yelling 'tiger bait, tiger bait'. Since we never met anyone from the school before, we couldn't figure out what the heck they were saying...only later did the annoyance of their fans begin to sink in...

So, what did you decide to do? Going around the holidays is a nice time!

How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year,
Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.

Urgh. We're not going this year now. Some economic uncertainties and vacation time restrictions. Instead I get to go to a water park.

In Gurnee.

Gurnee vs. NOLA. As much as I can't stand NOLA....I'd take NOLA. Best of luck.

Oh My! Red Face
That does not sound like a vacation.
