I know it's last minute and who knows if anything will even be available but...I'm looking for a resort within a few hours from here. Just want to chill in the sun and read. Some night life would be nice. Any suggestions?
Right now just looked at Chula Vista in the Dells because they have an all inclusive offer.

The Abbey on Lake Geneva? I haven't seen it since they remodeled. If you want luxury, the American Club in Kohler, WI is good...but I can't say there is much nightlife. When you say "resort," could that be stretched to include any of the nicer hotel/motels on Lake Michigan? I remember there being quite a few, and "a few hours" would get you probably as far north as Saugatuck.

"Within a few hours..." is the tough one...

We were not too impressed w/ Chula Vista after a stay several years back. I know that it's gone through some changes/expansion since then, but I'd be hesitant. The American Club is great. Also check out the Osthoff or Heidel House?

You might want to check out HOme and Away Vacation Rentals.

We have used it several times and have always been really happy with the accommodations. You can search for places anywhere and narrow the list by selecting dates, price range, number of bedrooms, etc. It's great!

We've gotten a number of Michigan Beach rentals off VRBO (Vacation Rentals By Owner). Same idea, basically. But some GOOD weekly rental leads.

Have started checking out the two sites. Those were great suggestions.
